Established in 1924, The Edinburgh Thistle Hotel is located in the prestigious, quiet and residential West End area of the city centre. Close by is Edinburgh Castle, St. Mary’s Cathedral, the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) and of course the renowned Princes Street with its vast array of stylish shops and stores. Having been a Georgian Town House and retaining most of its original period features, our hotel comprises 10 comfortable, elegant and spacious En-Suite rooms.

As you would expect to find from a family run hotel, our ‘Manor Lounge’ bar is, in true and traditional Scottish style, friendly and highly entertaining in character. Live Jazz music can be heard on Saturday nights and during other Special Events, along with traditional Scottish and Gaelic music, throughout the course of the year.
Informal and lively, we host live 'Swing Jazz' music every Saturday night.
Major sporting events from around the world can be viewed on our Cable TV monitors.
Choose from an excellent selection of beer, wine, spirits and whiskies.
