Area information

The hotel is situated in Edinburgh’s West End, close to the very heart of the city. Historic sights, including the mighty castle, surround the hotel, with a host of museums nearby. The dark and ghostly attractions of Mary Kings Close are just 10 minutes’ walk away and more modern attractions can be found in the excellent shops lining Princes Street and George Street, just 0.5 miles (800 metres) away. The regular bus tours are a great way to see the whole of the city and to get your bearings and these run regularly from a stop only 0.5 miles (800 metres) from the hotel.

The Royal Museum of Scotland is 1.2 miles (2 km) away and the castle is just one mile (1.5 km) away. The 10 celebrated golf courses and superb golfing facilities at St Andrews are 50 miles (80 km) away.

Travel information

By Air:
The hotel is approximately 8 miles (12 km) from Edinburgh Airport. Taxis are readily available from just outside the airport and the journey to the hotel should take approximately 20 minutes. Alternatively, Airlink (Lothian Buses) operate a regular bus service from the airport to the bus stop right by the hotel. The journey from the airport to the hotel should take approximately 20 minutes. Buses run every 10 minutes during the day and hourly at night.

By Train:
The nearest train station is Edinburgh’s Haymarket railway station, which is just 50 metres from the hotel.
