Set in the Tollcross area of the city, the house is within easy reach of Edinburgh’s main attractions, including the castle, theatres and fantastic shopping. Also, behind the house you can find Union Canal, which boasts beautiful walks and waterside restaurants.
A late Victorian house, fully refurbished to provide all modern comforts, Balmore has maintained many of its original period features, including a wrought iron staircase, chandeliers and ornate cornices.

The house is on a good bus route for further afield attractions such as Roslyn Chapel, Portobello Beach, Cramond and its island, and also the Britannia and The Botanic gardens.
The area is particularly great for eating out, so at the end of a long day sight seeing, it's good to know you will have a vast choice of places to eat at all different prices to suit your budget.
Travel information
You can take a taxi from outside the Edinburgh's terminal building, on the left-hand side. You can also take a shuttle bus or the Airport Link bus.
By Train:
From Edinburgh station it is easiest to get a taxi to Gilmore Place.
Important information
It is appreciated that between 22:00 at night and 08:00 in the morning that noise is kept to a minimum, if you need to come in after this time, common courtesy is required (i.e no banging of doors or loud conversations).
Only guests checked into the guest house may sleep there; no overnight guests are permitted.
A certain amount of time is required to clean rooms and this must be done between 10:00 and 15:00. Rooms must be empty when being cleaned.
Please be advised that in order to use Internet the guests must have their own computers.
